Since its founding in 1935, GETRAG has become one of the world’s leading producers of transmissions for passenger cars and light-duty utility vehicles. Today, GETRAG offers a complete range of transmission types that includes manual transmissions, dual-clutch transmissions and variants for hybrid and electric drives – for front-, rear- and all-wheel drive, for front transverse or longitudinal installation.

Current and future transmission technology must help reduce CO2 emissions while meeting a wide range of requirements in a globalized vehicle market. This calls for efficiency in every respect – in design and production, and in the transmission itself. GETRAG builds transmissions, including our scalable hybrid transmissions, on a modular basis. This allows us to offer our customers custom solutions.

Since January 1, 2016, GETRAG has been part of Magna. Magna Powertrain is a leading full-range supplier of powertrain solutions, from transmissions, to drivetrain components, to intelligent all-wheel drives. As electrification increases, we expect a growing diversity of powertrain architectures. This is both a challenge and an opportunity. Together, we design products and system solutions for all aspects of future powertrains.
